Diana Eusebio is a Peruvian-Dominican multidisciplinary artist based in Miami, Florida. In a practice that spans wearable garment, textile, and photography, Eusebio researches Black and Latinx diasporic stories and Pre-Columbian textile traditions. Her pieces employ color derived from the plants and natural materials as a means to honor indigenous natural dyeing techniques and recontextualize our reciprocal connection to the natural world. By combining ancestral and modern processes such as natural dyeing and digital textile printing, her work catalogs a powerful record of contemporary Afro-Latinx and Indigenous history.
Eusebio holds a BFA in Fiber/Textiles from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has exhibited at the MoMa, Hall of Nations, Gregg Museum of Art and Design, and Rubell Museum. Completed residencies include AIRIE Fellowship, Everglades National Park; INDEX Meca Art Fair, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Deering Estate Studio Residency, Miami, FL; Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Aspen, CO; and Red Hook Labs, NY, NY. Awards include the Obama administration’s U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts–the highest national honor for a young artist, Oolite Arts’ Ellies Grant Award, and the Green Family Foundation Grant. Currently, she is a 2023-2024 Studio Resident at Oolite Arts, Miami, FL.
