Producing art since 2004, Gustavo “Gus” Peña paints in several different styles. He produces geometric and abstract works, as well as stunning figurative paintings. Gus was born in 1979 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and is currently based there. He has shown in Miami, London, Berlin, Washington D.C., and other cities.

    Gus’ extraordinary geometric works are inspired by his nostalgia for his childhood of the 1980s. These works are based on his memories of the early computer graphics and video games of that era. In them he explores abstract forms, color and space, and are painted directly from his imagination. These pieces are not only a break from the figurative and narrative world which Peña often inhabits, but at the same time they are technical investigations of palette, form and space.
